A marathon is a unique form of Italy tour, which allows you to see much of the beautiful city of Rome during the 26 mile trek that begins and ends at the most impressive building the the city, the Colosseum. The path is lined with rustling foil blankets and runners stretching their tired limbs, but above this you see the spending archways of a building that has stood In Rome for almost 2,000 years.

This is enough to banish the fatigue for most. Unlike the London Marathon, Italian runners are dressed in serious sportswear, including plasters over the nose and special knee-high socks to prevent cramps. Some of them even sing cantos while running, which always cheers up those around them. The crowd lining the route cheer on the runners, and the scenery is even more inspiring. The city center is closed off so you have the unique opportunity to enjoy traffic free streets along with over 16,000 other runners.
